War the Lyrics Not the Song

Editor:  All of us at Red Brick agree that there are occasions when it is just best to let someone else explain the reality of a situation.  In this case, the explanation is in the form of words contained within a song describing the horrors of war and what is more, no one should have to experience these same horrors to realise this.

War is a song written by songwriters, Barrett Strong and Norman Whitfield and performed by Edwin Starr.  The song is from the album, ‘War & Peace,’ released in 1970 and although its genre is considered to be Rhythm, Blues and Soul, its lyrics expound the futility and egregiousness of war itself.

We have edited the lyrics to avoid repetition i.e. chorus lines.

War (lyrics)

War, what is it good for?

Absolutely nothing!

War, what is it good for?

Absolutely nothing!

(Also chorus)

Say it again, y’all

(repeats chorus)

War, I despise

Cause it means destruction of innocent lives

War means tears to thousands of mother’s eyes

When their sons go off to fight

And lose their lives

Listen to me I said War…. (repeats chorus)

It ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker

(War) Friend only to The Undertaker

Oh, war it’s an enemy to all mankind

The thought of war blows my mind

War has caused unrest

Within the younger generation

Induction then destruction

Who wants to die?

Listen to me I said War….  (repeats chorus)

(War) Its got one friend that’s The Undertaker

Oh, war, has shattered many a young man’s dreams

Made him disabled, bitter and mean

Life is much too short and precious

To spend fighting wars each day

War can’t give life

It can only take it away, oh

Listen to me I said War…. Peace, love and understanding, tell me

Is there no place for them today?

They say we must fight to keep our freedom

But Lord knows there’s got to be a better way

Stand up and shout it

Listen to me I said War…. (repeats chorus)

In the image above Nine British WW1 soldiers are finally being laid to rest more than one hundred years on.  Any sane person would think that after one hundred years the United Kingdom Government of today and every day before that would have had enough of War, but it seems over the last three decades they could not get enough of it.

I wonder how Prime Ministers, Politicians, Civil Servants, their families, and their acquaintances both past and present have made money out of their investments in the Military Industrial Complex.

I doubt whether we will ever know, because not only do this lot ‘pish in the same pot,’ they also mostly police themselves and given the Mainstream Media’s (MSM) ‘Sham’ performance during that COVID lurgy thingy when they pushed the ‘experimental vaccines,’ on to their readers and listeners, whose interests do you think they will be protecting first, yours or theirs?

Now that the MSM cannot be trusted to police government and its officials, there should be an independent body of ‘untouchable’ investigators whose ongoing purpose is to examine for any links between those in government, their investments, relationships with lobbyists and the like, as well as any financial contributions they or their party receive from any other donors.

Also, we must not forget any income they receive from their undemanding ‘consultancy jobs,’ or any other tasty ‘sideline’ they have, especially if it results from their political status and or any departmental posting / title they receive i.e. ministerial position. Perhaps if we knew more about the political class then it would not be so difficult to hold them to account and hopefully, stop a war or two.

The quotes and images used in this article serve to remind us that far too many young men in the prime of their lives, with so much to look forward to, had their hopes and dreams stolen from them by their own governments, governments that preferred war over peace, because war  is an governmental tool to be deployed when the Globalist Elites require its use for their next project.

War makes rich men richer, supresses the voice of the people demanding their God given rights and freedoms, reduces the population which in turn reduces the burden of the state to look after its now dead citizens and save millions of lovely jubbly money by freeing up their state pensions.

So, who benefits?  The American politician, Ron Paul, let the cat out of the bag when he said:

Thanks for that Mr Ron Paul, you have summarised it beautifully.

Finally, the following is an internet Google definition of the word parodical:  (of writing, music, art, speech, etc.) intentionally copying the style of someone famous or of a particular situation, making the features or qualities of the original more noticeable in a way that is humorous, however, in this article put together by our staff both home and abroad, we have sought to refrain from all joviality and allow the lyrics to do the talking.

Enough said!
